Where to Route a Greene County Jail or Court Question

For a current local custody question, start with the Greene County Sheriff's Office and the jail information line. Greene County's Board of Commissioners open-records page says the BOC does not maintain sheriff or court records, so jail booking records, arrest records, detention questions, and court filings should be directed to the office that owns the record.

Use these page routes when you are deciding which office or locator applies:

  • For someone believed to be in local sheriff custody, use jail inmate records and call Greene County Jail Information at 706-453-3351 x371.
  • For booking-photo questions, use jail roster mugshots and remember that Georgia restricts law-enforcement website posting of booking photographs.
  • For charges filed after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest, the Clerk of Superior Court, Magistrate Court, or PeachCourt access where available.
  • For a facility-specific question, start with the Greene County Jail page and then confirm directly with the sheriff's office.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query at services.gdc.ga.gov.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System instead of the county jail.
